A private birthday yacht rental in Miami costs about $1,500 to $2,800 for 4 hours for a small group on a 38 to 48 ft yacht, and $2,800 to $5,500 for 10 to 13 guests on a 48 to 70 ft yacht, based on the 2026 prices Miami operators publish. Add an 18% crew gratuity and, at some operators, 7% sales tax. Split 13 ways, a mid-size party yacht works out to roughly $270 to $530 per person.
The guest limit matters more than the yacht's size: most Miami charter yachts take 13 guests at most.

Rules: guests, drinks and decorations
- Guest limit. The U.S. Coast Guard requires a Certificate of Inspection for more than six passengers for hire and limits bareboat charters to 12 passengers plus the charterer (U.S. Coast Guard). Miami operators apply this as 13 guests. For 14 or more, see yachts for more than 13 guests.
- Bring your own drinks. Crown says BYOB is welcome on most of its yachts; Miami Yacht Connect says outside food and drinks are generally allowed.
- No glass, no red wine. Miami Yacht Connect says glass bottles and red wine are discouraged on most yachts for deck safety. Bring cans or plastic.
- Decorations. Operators usually arrange balloon arches, banners and table settings in advance; ask before bringing your own, especially confetti.
- Weather. Crown reschedules at no extra charge if the captain decides conditions are unsafe. Ask your operator for its weather policy in writing.
For a bigger party on one boat, some Miami party catamarans are certified for 40 or more guests. For everyday prices by yacht size and hours, see Miami yacht rental prices.
How to book a birthday yacht in Miami
- Fix the headcount first. Up to 13 guests: one yacht. 14 or more: two yachts or an inspected vessel.
- Pick 4 hours for an afternoon party, or the sunset slot for photos.
- Book 4 to 6 weeks ahead for a weekend, longer in December to April (YATR's guidance).
- Ask for the all-in total: charter, gratuity, tax, card fees, add-ons.
- Plan the music and drinks: Bluetooth playlist or DJ; cans, not glass.
- Arrive 15 minutes early: departures leave on time and late arrivals cut into your hours.
