Scout Boats, founded in 1989 by Steve Potts, began with a small team in a barn and a $50,000 investment. Over the years, Potts built the company into a leader in the marine industry. Scout is recognized for its wood-free construction, hand-laid fiberglass, and attention to detail. Among those examples is the 2023 Scout 400 LXF known as Lucky 24, which is listed by HMY Yacht Sales for $799,000.

Perhaps first noticeable on Lucky 24 is the striking Shark Grey hull color with custom-painted accent stripe, which is matched by the underside of the hardtop. Next up is the power: twin 600 hp Mercury V12 Verado engines give Lucky 24 the ability to reach speeds up to 62 mph thanks to its lightweight, epoxy-infused carbon fiber hull. Notably, the engines have less than 200 hours as of summer 2025 and have Mercury’s Platinum warranties in place until 2028. Lucky 24 is also equipped with a joystick, Skyhook, autopilot, active trim and an engine flush kit.

The vessel’s electronics package is also substantial, with a single Garmin 8622 and two additional 8616s at the helm. For locating birds and distant targets, switch on the GMR 424 XHD2 72-nm radar with 4-kW, 4-foot open array. The hull has Garmin’s B175H transducers, while there’s also a Garmin AIS800, VHF radio, underwater lights and cameras and a FLIR M364S pan-and-tilt night-vision camera system with high-resolution and stabilization. A Seakeeper gyrostabilizer, Release Marine helm seating and custom canvas covers are just a few of the many factory and optional features on Lucky 24.

Where is Lucky 24 located? The yacht is currently lying in Charleston, South Carolina.
