Riviera will debut its 72 Sports Motor Yacht Series II stateside at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October.

The new model represents an evolution of the original 72 Sports Motor Yacht launched in 2018, incorporating technological advances and design refinements based on owner feedback.

“When we launched the 72 Sports Motor Yacht in 2018, it answered the demand for a luxurious, long-range motor yacht that excelled in all water sports,” stated Riviera owner Rodney Longhurst in a press release. “Over that time, technology has advanced allowing us to incorporate proven innovations across our range.”

The Series II has a reimagined exterior and interior with what the company describes as a “holistic refinement approach.” One thing that remains the same from its predecessor is a robust build and bluewater capabilities.

Boarding via the hydraulic swim platform, guests enter the cockpit via port or starboard transom doors that can lock flush when at anchor, effectively expanding the entertainment area. The cockpit includes a BBQ, wet bar and an insulated freezer.

One innovation on the Series II is an articulating swim platform that transforms into steps and is adjustable for different heights.

The alfresco deck serves as the yacht’s social center, offering protection from the elements while increasing the salon-level living area by one-third. It has high-gloss teak cabinets with twin drawer refrigerators.

An aft U-shaped galley comes equipped with an induction cooktop, oven/microwave, dishwasher and programmable refrigeration/freezer units. The salon includes L-shaped dining and a folding table. Electric blinds create privacy when desired.

The cockpit layout includes L-shaped lounges with tables and the foredeck accommodates a tender with a low-profile davit, but converts to an eight-person entertainment space with fold-away lounge seating, tables and an optional awning.

An enclosed flybridge, accessible via stairs from the salon, has lounge seating, LED TV, fold-out berth for guests and access to an aft deck that can be enclosed as well.

This 72-footer’s helm setup includes touchscreen displays with outstanding visibility through a curved glass windscreen. Options include a third helm chair and the Twin Disc Express Positioning System for precise station-keeping in varying conditions.

Owners can choose from a four-stateroom Classic layout or three-stateroom Presidential design. Both versions have a full-beam owners’ stateroom with king berth.

A separate crew cabin with private access from the alfresco deck can also serve as a utility room for watersports gear. The yacht also has a laundry space with separate washer and dryer.

Power options include twin 1,800 hp or 2,000 hp V-12 MAN diesels.

The Riviera 72 Sports Motor Yacht Series II will be at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show at the Bahia Mar Yachting Centre, C Dock – Green Zone, starting October 29.

Riviera’s sport yacht collection flagship, the 6800 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition, had its American premiere at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. A combination of design elements make the 6800 equally suited for long-distance passages, weekend cruises and dayboating.

The Australian-based builder, whose range of yachts spans 39 to 78 feet length overall, was aiming for a fun entertainment platform when it designed the 6800. The result is a stylish cruiser with a variety of entertainment spaces, from the swim platform to the bow lounge.

Despite its considerable volume, this yacht looks long and low. The nearly 73-foot yacht underwent three years of development and is a collaboration between Riviera’s design group and the award-winning superyacht designer Luca Vallebona.

Owners and their guests can travel to and from the foredeck worry-free thanks to the wide side decks with handrails flanking the main deck—a nice feature for owner-operators. Courtesy Riviera

The broad strokes of the main deck’s interior are simple. The galley-aft layout reinforces the yacht’s entertainment-friendly sensibility by serving the cockpit and salon. The galley is equipped with a three-element induction cooktop, a combination oven with an integrated grill, a range hood, a double sink, a microwave and a dishwasher.

Owners can select from a variety of custom options on board, including Starlink high-speed internet, Praxis solar charging systems, and factory-fitted stabilization—gyroscopic or fin-based. Owners also can opt for a personalized laundry room or a crew cabin, if they’d prefer to have a captain or mate.

Performance is never overlooked on a Riviera, which has to account for the rough waters off the coast of Australia. The 6800’s powerplant package is twin 1,000 hp Volvo Penta D13 IPS1350 diesels, which give it a reported 32-knot top hop. The 6800 has a 27-knot fast cruise, at which owners can expect a 450-nautical-mile range. Pulling back on the speed to 10 knots drops the fuel burn below 1 gallon per nautical mile and increases the range to more than 1,100 nm. The yacht’s full-height engine room can be accessed via the transom door or through the master stateroom for daily maintenance checks.

With three or four staterooms, Riviera’s 6800 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition is a yacht built for cruising couples and families who want to welcome friends, have strong performance and relax in onboard comfort.

Italy’s Invictus Yachts was at the recent Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show with the premiere of a model that’s specifically designed for American boaters who want an upscale addition to their fleet: the Invictus TT430S America.

Designed by Christian Grande, the TT430S America can be used as a family’s sole boat, or as a tender to a mega-yacht. It has triple 400-horsepower outboard engines combined with the kinds of upscale design details for which Grande has become known, taking influences from the superyacht sector of interior and exterior design.

“Invictus TT430S America belongs to the luxury tender category,” Grande stated in a press release. “While often used as chase boats, they exemplify the essence of luxury through meticulous attention to detail, a hallmark of the Invictus brand.”

According to the Invictus team, construction of the Invictus TT430S America is intended to withstand the heat of regions such as Florida. Its fiberglass undergoes a heat stabilization process that enhances its durability and resistance to high temperatures, for structural integrity over time.

The profile of the Invictus TT430S America is defined by the lines of its windshield, which integrate into the carbon hardtop. The integral glass windshield with wipers is unusual for a boat of this size.

Belowdecks is a U-shaped sofa that converts to a double berth, a separate twin stateroom aft and a full head with a shower. Courtesy Invictus Yachts

Aft, the cockpit layout is intended to function as a “beach” on the water for entertaining guests, relaxing, socializing and participating in watersports activities. A U-shaped sofa faces the sea and transforms into a sunbathing area, as well as a dining area. The folding central table can be lowered to form a large cushion or can be set up for an al fresco meal.

For shade and shelter, a lightweight carbon-fiber hardtop covers the entire living area, with an extendable awning toward the stern. The awning is supported by carbon-fiber poles, while a stainless steel system protects the crew and guests during navigation. These features are inspired by larger yachts. They can be removed and stowed, freeing up the stern area for recreational and sporting activities.

Belowdecks, the Invictus TT430S America is open with a U-shaped sofa that converts to a double berth. A separate aft stateroom has twin berths, and there’s a head with a separate shower—also unusual for a boat in this size range.

Can the Invictus TT430S America be customized? Yes. Owners can choose hull colors as well as interior finishes, including premium leathers.

Pardo GT75
The Pardo GT75, the flagship of the GT range, made its US debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show and was designed by Zuccheri Yacht Design and Nauta Design. Alberto Cocchi

Italian builder Pardo Yachts hosted the U.S. premiere of its GT range flagship model, the Pardo GT75, at the recent Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

“It’s a luxurious villa on the sea, designed to offer a unique and sophisticated experience,” Gigi Servidati, president of Cantiere del Pardo, stated in a press release. “The Pardo GT75 embodies the vision we aimed to achieve, thanks to our boatbuilding heritage, combined with outstanding design and cutting-edge technology.”

Pardo GT75
The GT75’s owners’ stateroom spans the yacht’s 19-foot-plus beam and includes amenities like a walk-in closet and 54-inch Samsung TV. Alberto Cocchi

Zuccheri Yacht Design was tapped for the Pardo GT75’s naval architecture, and Nauta Design was hired for the exteriors and interiors.

Standard propulsion includes three 800-horsepower Volvo Penta IPS1050s, though the builder says the engine room is set up to accommodate a hybrid package if that’s what owners would prefer.

Fuel capacity is about 1,080 gallons, with a freshwater capacity of 290 gallons. Equipment includes a bow thruster and a gyrostabilizer, with a second joystick in the cockpit to make close-quarters maneuvering easier for skippers.

Pardo GT75
Powered by triple 800 hp Volvo Penta IPS1050 diesel engines, the Pardo GT75 can reportedly reach speeds of up to 38 knots. Alberto Cocchi

“The shipyard’s requests were clear from the beginning: to create the largest Pardo ever, while staying true to the key elements that have distinguished its smaller siblings in the range,” Edoardo Zuccheri of Zuccheri Design stated in the press release. “After a long and complex design process, we can say we are more than satisfied with the final result: performance, seaworthiness, design and engineering are truly flagship-worthy. The synergy between the shipyard, Nauta Design and our studio has been inspiring, and we believe the final result is remarkable.”

Guest areas include a lounge within an enclosed superstructure with a semi-open roof. Most of the wraparound windows can be opened. In the cockpit, there’s a sun lounger and foldout side terraces. At the bow, there’s another sunpad, a sofa and a table for cocktails or coffee.

When it comes to outdoor spaces, the GT75 has two fold-out side terraces in the cockpit and a sun pad, sofa and table on the foredeck. Alberto Cocchi

As for the layout, owners can choose galley-up or galley-down designs. In the galley-up version, there’s a dining table for eight guests. In the galley-down version, the main deck becomes a living area with sofas.

Accommodations can include two, three or four staterooms with as many as 10 berths total. The owner’s stateroom spans the yacht’s beam, and the standard layout is a three-stateroom, three-head affair. There’s also a cabin for two crew.

Massimo Gino, co-founder of Nauta Design, says this about the Pardo GT75: “We have translated the experience of seaside living into a luxurious yacht. This vision has been integrated by creating multiple outdoor spaces, including a beach area, sunbeds and dining areas, allowing guests to enjoy each area at different times of the day.”
