Boat-show attendees often stop our staff on the docks and ask, “What’s the best boat to get?” And the answer we give is always the same: It’s the one that gets you on the water.

That said, there are six boatbuilders that have brand-new designs, and they are ready to help clients find the boat that gets them on the water next.

Your passion might be long-range summer cruising with the family to exotic ports of call. It might be ripping off to the local sandbar at light speed for a day trip on a Sunday afternoon. Either way, there’s a boat for the mission at hand.

And when it comes to features such as foldout decks, beach clubs, glass-walled spas, inboards, outboards, custom furnishings and foredeck lounges, they’re all available and a whole lot more.

Pardo Endurance 72

The Pardo Endurance 72 has a warped hull form that’s designed to work with Volvo Penta IPS propulsion. There are two engine options: IPS1050 or IPS1350 diesels. With the l350s, the builder reports a maximum cruising range of 900 nautical miles at 12 knots, making the Endurance 72 a fit for those who have a desire to visit far-flung waypoints. Belowdecks, there are four staterooms, including a full-beam owner’s space aft and a VIP amidships with an athwartships berth. Two twin-berth guest staterooms are forward. The yacht’s modern interior has satin-finish gray walnut, which is found in the soles, ceiling panels and more.

Grand Banks 62
Grand Banks reports that at 20 knots, the 62’s diesels burn just 38 gallons per hour Courtesy Grand Banks

Grand Banks 62

The Grand Banks 62’s sweeping sheerline creates an ageless profile, while beneath the yacht’s stately visage is a thoroughly modern motoryacht. Powered with 900 hp straight-shaft Volvo Penta D13 diesels, the 62-footer has 30-knot speed with a 27-knot fast-cruise speed. The yacht—running on the Malaysian builder’s V-Warp hull design—has a reported 2,000-nautical-mile range at 10 knots. Other engine options include 1,000 hp D13s and IPS1200s. The yacht is constructed with resin-infused E-glass as well as carbon fiber in the superstructure, decks and bulkheads. The Grand Banks 62 also comes in a sky-lounge version.

Tankoa Diamond Binta

Diamond Binta’s owner is a previous Tankoa client, having built the 164-foot Binta d’Or, but it was time to go bigger and create a yacht with longer range. Enter this 190-footer. Tankoa partnered with Francesco Paszkowski Design to create the yacht, with Margherita Casprini on the interiors. Notable design elements include a beach club with a glass-walled “treatment room” that allows light into the space when the yacht’s side decks are lowered and the transom is open, as well as a guest companionway belowdecks with panoramic views. This corridor also passes an open engine room for a view of the yacht’s various systems.

Marlow 65 Avalon

There’s a certain sophistication in symmetry when looking at the lines of the Marlow 65 Avalon—the way the sheerline creates a stout yet sinewy appearance. The motoryacht’s superstructure, generous with its glazing, visually lowers the profile to create a runner’s look. Viewing the yacht bow-on, the vessel appears broad-shouldered in a ready stance to take on the sea. This three-stateroom yacht can cruise at 8 knots or shoot along at 25-plus knots when time is of the essence. Inside, the salon has an open floor plan. There is also an atrium lounge aft, creating a climate-controlled indoor-outdoor space for relaxing with friends.

Hinckley 41

Hinckley 41

The Hinckley 41 is an entertainment platform from end to end. The cockpit, which can be protected with a SureShade awning, has a C-shaped settee to port and an aft-facing seat to starboard, both with stowage underneath. There is also an L-shaped settee to port with the helm to starboard under the hardtop. The foredeck lounge has a U-shaped settee for even more guests to stretch out. Power options for the Hinckley 41 include triple 350 hp or triple 400 hp Mercury V-10 Verados. With the smaller outboards, the yacht builder reports about a 46-knot top hop. The larger outboards reportedly offer a 52-knot top-end speed.

Pardo GT75
Sleek, modern lines and speed to spare are two key traits of the Pardo GT75. Courtesy Pardo Yachts

The Fountainebleu Hotel in South Beach, Miami, is an iconic design—a near-perfect match for the Pardo GT75’s sleek, modern lines. I had first seen the shipyard’s new flagship when it was introduced to Americans at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, where two things about the build stood out: the flexibility in the interior layouts, and the performance promised with the triple Volvo Penta engines. Now I’d have a chance to give this model a more thorough look, at the dock and at wide-open throttle.

I entered the GT75’s salon from twin curved-glass sliding doors aft, and it was clear that I was in the primary entertaining space. With 80 inches of headroom, the salon can be fully shaded and air-conditioned for tropical climates, or opened with power sliding-glass windows on each side and a slatted power sunroof overhead. Skippers can open the pantograph doors on each side of the helm to further increase airflow and allow easy access to the bow.

Naval architecture is by Zuccheri Yacht Design, with Nauta Design handling the exterior and interior design. Cantiere del Pardo wanted a yacht that would appeal to clients worldwide, which is why the design has so much flexibility.

Pardo GT75
The open salon has seating for cocktails and conversation, with a wet bar and refrigeration abaft the helm. Courtesy Pardo Yachts

In the first GT75, the open salon has a wet bar and refrigeration just abaft the helm and plenty of seating. The galley is belowdecks, along with a VIP stateroom forward and a master aft. An island for stowage and prep hides a flat-screen television for the U-shaped lounge area opposite. The galley is equipped with a full-size refrigerator/freezer and a four-burner Miele cooktop. There is 78 inches of headroom throughout.

In this configuration, the GT75 feels more like a supersize dayboat, ready for fast cruises and island hopping with the occasional overnighter thrown in. Pardo’s optional layouts move the galley to the salon while adding one or two staterooms belowdecks for family cruising and more frequent nights aboard.

Back at the helm, a trio of 22-inch Garmin displays provided all the information we needed as we warmed up the engines for departure. The 21-inch-wide side decks kept the crew moving fore and aft safely, with guest space at the bow’s U-shaped lounge and table, and a sun pad. Aft, there’s a second lounge with a shaded overhang two steps down from the salon deck. From there, it’s another two steps down to the swim platform and enclosed tender garage.

Pardo GT75

I stuck to the helm, where Pardo’s distinctive raked windshield significantly reduces glare and complements the vessel’s plumb bow. More than a few onlookers paused to enjoy the view as we slid down Miami Beach’s waterways en route to the open Atlantic.

With light winds and a rolling 3-foot groundswell off Government Cut, conditions were perfect to gauge the vessel’s performance. Triple Volvo Penta IPS1050s are standard, but this boat had the optional IPS1350s. They delivered a top hop of 37 knots with approximately 400 gallons of fuel and six people on board, and the Quick gyrostabilizer and interceptors operating normally. That’s impressive for a vessel displacing more than 106,500 pounds. Even better, there was virtually no bow rise and no pounding or hobbyhorsing as we traversed the widely spaced seas at speed. Steering was light and highly responsive.

The GT75 is a blast to run, and it can be fairly economical too. Slowing to 27 knots at 70 percent engine load, the diesels burned 86 gallons per hour. That’s good for a range of 322 nautical miles with a 10 percent fuel reserve. At 9 knots, fuel burn was just 15 gph, which allows for more than 600 nm between fuel stops.

Pardo GT75
With the optional triple Volvo Penta IPS1350 engines, top speed on the GT75 is 37 knots. Courtesy Pardo Yachts

Construction and soundproofing are also impressive. At idle speeds, I registered just 68 to 70 decibels, about the same as normal conversation. The reading was only 78 decibels at wide-open throttle, with no creaking, pounding or jarring.

Fast mega-dayboat or luxurious long-range family cruiser? With the Pardo GT75, the answer is yes. And it comes with top-notch performance, rugged construction and head-turning good looks. A worthy new flagship, indeed.

Behind the Brand

Cantiere del Pardo embodies the Italian spirit of boatbuilding, with the cornerstones of style, performance and quality. Spanning 50 years of history, Pardo has established itself as a builder of luxury sail and power vessels that are comfortable and easy to handle. The yard’s philosophy is based in large part on its roots in Emilia-Romagna, which is also home to renowned automobile brands Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati.

Changes in Latitudes

With cooler air temperatures and less humidity, Europe is far different from South Florida. The GT75 is built to enjoy both regions. Open the sunroof, side windows and aft sliding doors to enjoy the sea breeze, or crank up the air conditioning in the tropical heat. Pardo worked closely with the Miami dealer on the “chill factor,” as well as on upgraded sound systems and features that Americans prefer.

Italian builder Pardo Yachts hosted the U.S. premiere of its GT range flagship model, the Pardo GT75, at the recent Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

“It’s a luxurious villa on the sea, designed to offer a unique and sophisticated experience,” Gigi Servidati, president of Cantiere del Pardo, stated in a press release. “The Pardo GT75 embodies the vision we aimed to achieve, thanks to our boatbuilding heritage, combined with outstanding design and cutting-edge technology.”

The GT75’s owners’ stateroom spans the yacht’s 19-foot-plus beam and includes amenities like a walk-in closet and 54-inch Samsung TV. Alberto Cocchi

Zuccheri Yacht Design was tapped for the Pardo GT75’s naval architecture, and Nauta Design was hired for the exteriors and interiors.

Standard propulsion includes three 800-horsepower Volvo Penta IPS1050s, though the builder says the engine room is set up to accommodate a hybrid package if that’s what owners would prefer.

Fuel capacity is about 1,080 gallons, with a freshwater capacity of 290 gallons. Equipment includes a bow thruster and a gyrostabilizer, with a second joystick in the cockpit to make close-quarters maneuvering easier for skippers.

Pardo GT75
Powered by triple 800 hp Volvo Penta IPS1050 diesel engines, the Pardo GT75 can reportedly reach speeds of up to 38 knots. Alberto Cocchi

“The shipyard’s requests were clear from the beginning: to create the largest Pardo ever, while staying true to the key elements that have distinguished its smaller siblings in the range,” Edoardo Zuccheri of Zuccheri Design stated in the press release. “After a long and complex design process, we can say we are more than satisfied with the final result: performance, seaworthiness, design and engineering are truly flagship-worthy. The synergy between the shipyard, Nauta Design and our studio has been inspiring, and we believe the final result is remarkable.”

Guest areas include a lounge within an enclosed superstructure with a semi-open roof. Most of the wraparound windows can be opened. In the cockpit, there’s a sun lounger and foldout side terraces. At the bow, there’s another sunpad, a sofa and a table for cocktails or coffee.

As for the layout, owners can choose galley-up or galley-down designs. In the galley-up version, there’s a dining table for eight guests. In the galley-down version, the main deck becomes a living area with sofas.

Accommodations can include two, three or four staterooms with as many as 10 berths total. The owner’s stateroom spans the yacht’s beam, and the standard layout is a three-stateroom, three-head affair. There’s also a cabin for two crew.

Massimo Gino, co-founder of Nauta Design, says this about the Pardo GT75: “We have translated the experience of seaside living into a luxurious yacht. This vision has been integrated by creating multiple outdoor spaces, including a beach area, sunbeds and dining areas, allowing guests to enjoy each area at different times of the day.”

“It’s a luxurious villa on the sea, designed to offer a unique and sophisticated experience,” said Gigi Servidati, president of Cantiere del Pardo, in the release. “The Pardo GT75 embodies the vision we aimed to achieve, thanks to our boatbuilding heritage, combined with outstanding design and cutting-edge technology. You can only fully understand the immense potential of the Pardo GT75 by living it firsthand!”

Layout and Features

A brainchild of Cantiere del Pardo, the GT75’s naval architecture was conceived by Zuccheri Yacht Design. Nauta Design also contributed to the ship’s interiors and exteriors.

The GT75’s enclosed superstructure provides complete protection, while a semi-open roof offers an airy lounge space to beat the heat. Her spacious cockpit is surrounded by large wraparound windows–most of which can be opened.

The sundeck lifts up electrically to reveal a dedicated space for a 12-foot storage area. High bulwarks and the walkaround deck provide safe livability of the exterior spaces.

The GT75’s layout offers a choice between galley-up or galley-down versions with a large variety of appliances. The galley-up version includes a well-equipped kitchen and an L-shaped sofa with a dining table seating up to eight guests. The galley-down version transforms the main deck into a large living area with comfortable sofas, a semi-open roof, side windows and a sliding aft door for viewing the sea.

Multiple sleeping area configurations are available for the lower deck’s layout. Options include two, three or four cabins, accommodating up to 10 berths including a full-beam owner’s stateroom, plus a crew double cabin. The standard layout features three cabins and three bathrooms.

“Onboard the Pardo GT75 we have translated the experience of seaside living into a luxurious yacht,” said Nauta Design co-founder Massimo Gino in the release.” This vision has been integrated by creating multiple outdoor spaces, including a beach area, sunbeds, and dining areas, allowing guests to enjoy each area at different times of the day. In addition the flexible layout offers up to four cabins, ensuring comfort and privacy. The exterior and interior styling of the Pardo GT75 showcases Nauta’s signature approach to modern, clean lines and a balanced, harmonious design, which perfectly match the Pardo Yachts aesthetic DNA.”

Specs and Performance

The GT75 measures 75 feet in length overall with a maximum beam of 19 feet and a draft of 5 feet.

With a standard engine package including triple 800 horsepower Volvo Penta IPS 1050 diesels, the vessel combines performance and stability–even in challenging conditions, according to the builder. Those looking for more power can swap out the 1050s for triple Volvo Penta IPS 1350’s adding 200 horsepower each.

Pardo GT75

The release states the Pardo GT75’s ride is both quiet and comfortable thanks to the hull being specifically optimized to work with the Volvo Penta IPS propulsion system.

Additionally, the engine room is already set up to accommodate the hybrid engine to lessen environmental impact. The GT75 has a 290-gallon freshwater tank and a 1,135-gallon fuel capacity, creating long-range-cruising capability.

The yacht is extremely tuned and drivable with a raised central dashboard for visibility, a bow thruster,  a gyrostabilizer and a second joystick in the cockpit for precision docking.

Italian yacht builder Cantiere Del Pardo has announced the Pardo GT75 as one of three new sail and powerboat models to launch this September.

Pardo Yachts’ new flagship GT75 will debut along with the Grand Soleil 52 Performance and Grand Soleil 65 Performance sailboats at the Cannes Yachting Fest 2024, according to a news release from the company. Measuring at just over 75 feet, the GT75 features spacious, luxury interiors comparable to a villa on the sea, says the builder. The vessel has a beam of 19.6 feet, and a shallow-water-friendly draft of 3.4 feet.

This new model builds upon its GT52 predecessor to provide more room to suit its owner’s needs. A sliding aft door, semi-open roof, sliding doors to side walkways and side windows offers seamless access to interior and exterior areas.

“The GT75 embodies Pardo Yachts’ philosophy of creating easy to handle yachts with unmistakable lines that showcase Italian craftsmanship,” the news release states.

The GT75 offers several Volvo Penta IPS engine options. The standard setup includes three D13 IPS 1050 engines, with an option to upgrade to three D13 IPS 1350s. The hull has been optimized for these engines to emphasize fuel efficiency and cruising comfort, while accommodating future hybrid-propulsion upgrades.

The GT75 sports an inverted bow and a deep-V hull form. The brainchild of Cantiere Del Pardo has naval architecture by Zuccheri Yacht Design, and Nauta Design devised its exteriors and interiors.

The yacht’s aft cockpit layout includes a sundeck that lifts electrically to reveal a dedicated tender garage. Its walkaround design extends to the bow area, which has a C-shaped sofa, table and a sundeck with a central backrest. Belowdecks, the forward area houses the VIP cabin and crew quarters.

Its main deck offers a choice between a galley-up and galley-down layout. The galley-up version includes a salon with L-shaped sofa with a dining table for up to seven guests. The galley-down version transforms the main deck into a living area with sofas, and is enhanced by a semi-open roof, side windows and a sliding aft door for a constant view of the ocean blue.

This model was Tiara’s flagship at the time of launch, with a raked deckhouse, down-swept side windows, a hardtop overhang and a reverse- transom design.

Dreamscape is powered by triple, 435 hp Volvo Penta IPS 600 diesels. The IPS pod-drive system makes for easier close-quarters handling, increased fuel efficiency compared to traditional straight-shaft diesels and reduced vibration, which, in turn, lessens onboard noise.

The yacht cruises around 29 knots, with a reported top speed of 34 knots. The joystick docking system simplifies handling around the dock.

“Wait till you drive it,” came the reply from David Zgrabik, a senior service specialist for Volvo Penta. He had spent countless hours helping to plan and then install the first triple IPS 600 diesel system, the same three 435 hp engines turning azipod units with forward-facing dual-prop drives that would soon be pulling us along at cruising speeds of 30 knots for hours on end. For the next six hours, the Tiara Sovran 5800 was our magic carpet ride, smoothing out the light chop of Lake Erie.” Yachting previously reported.

The cockpit has an L-shaped settee with a high-gloss teak table, a solit setup for alfresco dining. A hydraulic swim platform with an 800-pound-capacity lift provides easy water access. There is also a wet bar with refrigerator, ice maker and electric grill. The foredeck has adjustable sun pads, offering an additional lounging space.

Sliding glass doors lead into the Dreamscape‘s salon, which includes an L-shaped leather settee, two chairs, a pop-up flat-screen TV and a wet bar with wine cooler. Large windows and skylights allow for abundant natural light.

The helm station is located forward with twin adjustable captain’s chairs. Electronics include Raymarine multifunction displays, radar, autopilot and GPS. The IPS joystick and electronic engine controls enhance boathandling. Side windows and a sunroof can be opened for breezes when desired.

Below, the galley has Corian countertops, stainless-steel appliances, a refrigerator/freezer, convection microwave, electric cooktop, dishwasher and upper/lower cabinets for stowage.

The full-beam owners’ stateroom is located amidships with a queen-size island berth, nightstands, an entertainment system and hull-side windows for ocean views. The ensuite head includes a walk-in shower and solid-surface countertops.

The VIP stateroom forward has a queen pedestal berth, under-berth and hanging locker stowage and an overhead hatch with shade and screen. Both staterooms have dedicated entertainment systems.

Grand Banks 43 Europa – Peace – Newport, Rhode Island

Peace, a 2014 Grand Banks 43 Europa, is a couple-size, Great Loop-ready cruiser with a top speed of 25 knots, two staterooms, two heads and is on the market with Grand Banks for $845,000.

“The Heritage series embodies that thoughtful process of innovation and features an iconic design that has been the mainstay of Grand Banks since 1973. Today there are four models: the 41 EU, 43 EU, 47 EU and 54 EU. When I stepped aboard the 43 EU, I knew instantly that I was on a Grand Banks because of her classic teak interior and evident craftsmanship. But once under way, I fully realized I was not on a Grand Banks of the past,” Yachting previously reported.

Powered by twin 480 hp Cummins 6.7L diesel engines with Zeus pod-drive propulsion system, Peace hits a top speed of 25 knots. During our sea trial, we saw a 10.4 gph fuel burn at 10.5 knots, which resulted in a 564-nautical-mile range with a 10 percent reserve on the yacht’s 600-gallon fuel capacity. The 43 Europa’s hull design from C. Raymond Hunt Associates has allowed engineers to add higher horsepower engines to increase top speeds with better fuel efficiency over previous hull designs.

Peace’s cockpit, which is partially shaded by the flybridge, is roomy and  comfortable with deck chairs laid out on a teak sole. Take a dive off the swim platform or just relax and enjoy the ocean breeze. With its seamless connection to the salon and galley, the cockpit is the perfect spot for guests to lounge and enjoy alfresco dining.

The flybridge has a Bimini top giving owners the option of sun or shade. There is an L-shaped settee with table to starboard and a portside bench-style settee. The aft deck currently supports a tender and davit, but when the tender is launched, the aft deck could be used for catching rays or relaxing with a bottle of wine while watching the sunset over the water. The helm station is on centerline with two seats.

Peace’s salon embodies the classic Grand Banks charm with warm teak joinery in all directions. Windows bathe the space with natural light and keep a connection with the surrounding seascape. The salon has an L-shaped settee with dining table to port and a sofa to starboard. The entertainment systems are integrated discreetly, ensuring the space remains uncluttered. Opening the sliding door to the cockpit creates an open-air environment that extends from the galley to the cockpit.

The galley is located forward of the salon and to port, and is adjacent to the lower helm station. The galley appliances include a two-burner cooktop, microwave, refrigerator and sink. Stowage is plentiful, with well-placed drawers and cabinets that optimize the available space.

The two-stateroom setup includes the master stateroom, located forward, with a queen island berth, flanked by stowage and hanging lockers. Overhead hatches and portlights provide ventilation and natural light, creating a bright and airy feel. The guest stateroom, configured with side-by-side twin berths, is equally well-appointed. Both staterooms are finished with the same rich teak joinery found throughout the yacht. The shared head features a separate shower stall, high-quality fixtures and thoughtful stowage solutions.

2021 Tiara Yachts 43 LE – Natural Selection – Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Natural Selection, a 2021 Tiara Yachts 43 LE, has a two-stateroom, one-head layout and is currently listed by HMY Yacht Sales for $849,000.

The boat is powered by triple 450 hp Mercury 450R outboards with approximately 81 hours each. It has a reported top speed of 52 knots and cruises around 35 knots. A Seakeeper SK6 gyrostabilizer provides roll reduction, while Mercury’s joystick control assists with low-speed maneuvering.

“Swing the wheel hard over at cruise speed or while going full tilt, and the yacht’s 21-degree deep-V hull digs in and carves a turn half as wide as virtually any boat this size rigged with inboards and rudders. Dockside handling was above par with the joystick control; in fact, when we returned to a cramped and crowded marina to parallel park with maybe 3 or 4 feet of clearance fore and aft, docking was simply a matter of lining up next to the opening and then nudging the joystick sideways,” Yachting previously reported.

The cockpit includes a rotating lounge that locks into multiple positions and includes a footrest. A fold-down terrace expands the usable space and provides additional water access on the hook. A retractable sunshade, transom grill and removable high-gloss teak table support alfresco dining. There is an upgraded JL Audio system with Fusion head unit. Underwater lights enhance the ambiance when the sun goes down.

Forward, the bow has sun pads with integrated cupholders. Stainless-steel bow rails provide safe transit when accessing the foredeck.

Sliding glass doors connect the cockpit to the salon and galley. The salon is bright and open, thanks to large windows and high ceilings. Air conditioning, rotating helm chairs and sliding doors that open fully to the cockpit allow the salon to serve as a social hub. Galley features include a stainless-steel sink, microwave, Cognac wood-finished refrigerator/freezer drawers and multiple stowage compartments.

The helm electronics setup includes three 16-inch Garmin GPS displays, a Garmin 48-inch Fantom open-array radar, Mercury VesselView, Seakeeper control and an integrated sound-system interface. Opening side windows provide breezes when desired.

Belowdecks, the forward master stateroom includes a queen island berth with stowage below, reading lights, a hanging locker, privacy curtain and flat-screen TV. The second stateroom has a full-size berth and settee. The shared head has a teak shower stall with a glass door, sink and toilet.

Where is Natural Selection located? The yacht is currently lying in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Surrounded by glass, the forward section not only makes for a good driving platform, but also offers exceptional views of the water. Headroom was 6 feet 9 inches to the top of the sunroof, making the open-plan salon feel even more spacious. At the time of her build, there were no larger pedigree ‘Yacht Fisherman’ on the water. While newer, larger, and faster sportfishing yachts have since emerged, none match the class, grace, or quality of a Feadship. Her original design remains intact, with only system upgrades over the years. This is a rare opportunity to own an icon,” Gilman Yachts stated.
