The Ferretti Yachts 750 represents another step forward in the development of the Ferretti Yacht range over 70 feet, and is the result of a collaboration between Studio Zuccon International Project and the Ferretti Group’s team of engineers, architects and designers. Sami Kay III is a 2017 Ferretti 750 currently located in Miami Beach, Florida, and offered for sale by Allied Marine for $2.255 million.

Thanks to the new flybridge with an elongated aft overhang, the Ferretti 750 is noted for its sleek profile. A distinguishing feature in the stern is the electrohydraulic swim platform which is nearly eight feet wide. It can be lowered completely underwater for easy launching of a deck-mounted tender. The swim platform can lift up to 1,000 pounds and accommodate a tender up to 12 feet in length.

Sami Kay III also has the optional 1,524-mhp MTU 10V 2000 M93 engines, which give it a top speed of 32.5 knots and a cruising speed of 29 knots, according to the builder. The broker notes that the engines have approximately 1,170 hours on them, as of summer 2025.

From the cockpit—which is a true outdoor living and dining room with teak flooring, furnished with a large wooden table, a sofa and chairs seating up to eight people—access both the flybridge, via a staircase to portside, and the crew cabins, via another staircase leading aft, left of the sofa. The glazed door divides the outdoor area from the main deck interiors. The salon spans the entire hull width and has uninterrupted glazing from stern to bow.

Stepping into the salon, a large L-shape sofa in leather and custom-made fabric is to port. A leather coffee table, also built by the boatyard and featuring a glass top by Omnidecor, completes the living area furniture. Toward the bow to port is the dining area, furnished with a large table by Cantori with a central base, a glass top by Omnidecor, and satin bronze finishes.

Ferretti 850 Alter Ego
The 2018 850 Ferretti 850 known as Alter Ego has low-hour MAN engines, four guest staterooms and crew quarters for four. It’s located in Boca Raton, Florida. Courtesy Allied Marine

Alter Ego is a Ferretti 850 located in Boca Raton, Florida, and offered by Allied Marine for $3.957 million. It’s been recently maintained with annual inspections for fire and safety compliance completed in early 2025 and bottom paint and Prop Speed in December 2024. The vessel has four guest staterooms and accommodations for four crew in two additional cabins.

The Ferretti Yachts 850 is based on the popular 800 and has a raised pilothouse. The profile is interesting, but it’s the superstructure and hull glazing that really draw the eye. There’s almost a retro quality to this model, and the way the raised pilothouse melds into the flybridge without clear delineation is unusual. It’s both timeless and elegant.

Power is supplied by a pair of 1,900 hp MAN V12 engines with approximately 1,860 hours on them, the larger option of the two engine packages available. Ferretti quotes a top hop of 31 knots for the 850 with this power package. Alter Ego has two Cummins generators with recently completed 1,500-hour service on both, along with zero-speed fin stabilization. It also has a fuel capacity of 1,783 gallons for extended range at cruising speed.

Additional systems updates on Alter Ego include:

  • Starlink internet system
  • JBL audio system
  • Apple TV in every guest stateroom and main salon

Yachting previously wrote: “Inside, the main salon is typical Ferretti: oh so chic. But actually, this space is an open canvas all the way to the side-deck door to port and lower-deck staircase to starboard. A wall beyond there separates the guest zone and the crew area. The first 850 had dark-stained oak veneers and free-standing Minotti furniture, but there are all manner of options. Below-decks are four en suite staterooms with similar design flair.”

Creating a yacht from scratch is challenging, but reimagining one of your own designs might be an even tougher task. That’s exactly what designer Filippo Salvetti did when he reinvented the Ferretti Yachts 670, which, coincidentally, was his first model for the Forli, Italy-based builder in 2019.

One of the immediately noticeable and impactful changes is found in the hullside glass. Previously, there were three glass sections between the forepeak VIP stateroom and the amidships owner’s space. They were collectively shaped somewhere between a rectangle and a trapezoid. While there are still three glass sections in the current 670, the forward two have a more aggressive, lean-forward attitude and are larger, while the amidships glass is now shaped like a knife blade: thicker forward and narrowing as it travels aft. It pinches to a fine point as it resolves where the side decks meet the cockpit. Visually, this look helps to lower and elongate the 670’s profile. Practically, larger glass means more light belowdecks as well as an increased sense of volume.

When it comes to the motoryacht’s superstructure glass, it wraps nearly 360 degrees. There’s a house-spanning, single-pane windshield forward. Like the hullside glass, cut-down bulwarks amidships aid in lowering the yacht’s visual height while providing unobstructed ocean views from the salon. Add the hardtop that has forward-leaning supports—and stretches aft—and you have a vessel with proportional aesthetics from the bow to the stern and from the hardtop to the waterline.

Ferretti Yachts 670
The classic interior decor focuses on natural wood finishes and contrasting light-tone fabrics. Courtesy Ferretti Yachts

Balance of a different type is found inside the yacht, a design that comes from Ideaitalia. (The previous yacht’s interior was from Salvetti.) There are two decor schemes, dubbed classic and contemporary. The Ferretti 670 I was aboard had the classic decor with elements such as dark, varnished oak soles; natural porcelain stone galley countertops in a textured gray; Alpi teak-veneer bulkheads; creme-tone white marble; and blue accents. Overall, the color scheme adds to the ambient light, creating an airy vibe in the salon as well as in the three staterooms belowdecks.

The contemporary interior focuses on whitewashed oak soles in the salon, white Alpi bulkheads, salt-tone galley countertops, gray polished marble and more.

In addition to decor choices, the Ferretti 670 has two power options from MAN: twin 1,000 hp or 1,200 hp V-8 diesels. The yacht I was aboard had the latter option, rated at 2,300 rpm.

Ferretti Yachts 670
A single-pane windshield provides clear sightlines. Note the helm’s blend of fabrics, finishes and textures. Courtesy Ferretti Yachts

The morning was warm and humid, and the seas were calm off the coast of Cannes, France, where I saw the 670 skirt along at a 25.4-knot cruise speed at 2,000 rpm. At this speed, the engines consumed around 98.2 gallons per hour. With a 1,004-gallon fuel capacity—and considering a 10 percent reserve—that gives the yacht a range of 233 nautical miles at cruise speed. This 670 was running with eight people, about 450 gallons of fuel and 237 gallons of water. Ferretti specs the 670’s cruise speed at about 28 knots with a one-third load and six people. This yacht hit a 32-knot top hop at 2,345 rpm, which is a little above the rated rpm spec but within reasonable limits.

Both performance numbers are quite respectable for a yacht displacing 106,483 pounds (wet). Ferretti says that with the smaller MANs, cruise speed should be about 25 knots with a 28-knot top-end speed.

Other notable performance data includes the 670 getting on plane at 1,500 rpm and going from standing still to wide-open throttle in 35 seconds.

This overhead perspective highlights the 670’s abundant outdoor entertaining spaces from stem to stern. Courtesy Ferretti Yachts

The helm experience is confidence-inspiring, with clear sightlines for nearly 360 degrees from the lower helm. Hard-over turns were completed in a couple to a few boatlengths, and were mannerly with minimal inboard heel or speed bleed. The yacht was real-time-responsive to wheel input, and the Xenta single-lever controls operated smoothly and naturally under my palm. A bolster-style helm seat allowed me to stand or lean comfortably during my wheel time.

The dash was outfitted with three Simrad multifunction displays, a Xenta joystick, and Side-Power bow and stern thrusters to assist with close-quarters handling. This 670 also had a Zipwake trim system as well as a Seakeeper NG6 gyrostabilizer, which was engaged during our time on board. There is a full upper helm too; however, this helm had two Simrad multifunction displays instead of three.

When it comes to the 670’s outdoor spaces, there are several options for entertaining and lounging. The cockpit has a folding teak dining table with a transom bench seat and loose chairs, accommodating four to six guests for lunch under the flybridge overhang as cross breezes waft over the cockpit. The flybridge is set up with U-shaped dining for eight to 10 guests to port, and with a lounge pad forward of the dual-seat helm that’s as wide as the flybridge, ensuring everyone can enjoy the views underway while keeping the skipper company. Add a couple or a few chaise lounges for even more seating aft. Last, the foredeck lounge has mirrored settees and tables to enjoy some quietude at the quay or to gather with friends for sundowners on the hook.

From its luxe finishes to admirable performance and ageless exterior style, this iteration of the Ferretti Yachts 670 has proved an eminently cruise-worthy craft for enthusiasts with a penchant for comfortable voyaging, and perhaps a bit more.

Get Cooking

The Ferretti 670’s galley—to starboard and abaft the helm station—is set up with a Siemens four-burner cooktop, a standing fridge and freezer, a dishwasher and a Samsung microwave. The gray, textured stone countertops are inviting, providing an artistic touch as well as a tactile experience. This galley design appeals to the palate as well as every other sense.

When Night Comes

The Ferretti 670 has a three-stateroom, three-head layout, including a full-beam amidships owner’s en suite space with an optional bidet. It’s accessed via a door to port, seven steps down from the salon. Immediately upon entering the carpeted room, there’s a leather-topped desk/vanity. Hullside glass flanking the centerline berth brightens the space, increasing perceived volume. There is a walk-in closet abaft the berth to port, while the head with a walk-in shower is abaft the berth to starboard. The settee to starboard is a good spot to take in the view with coffee before pulling the hook for the day’s adventures. The forepeak VIP has the berth set low, creating significant headroom above it. The third guest space is abaft the VIP and to starboard with side-by-side berths. A crew cabin is far aft.

Add-Ons

Some notable options for the Ferretti Yachts 670 include a 155,000 Btu tropical air-conditioning system, two Seakeeper gyrostabilizers, a flybridge hardtop, an electrohydraulic passerelle, a 21 kW Kohler generator, flybridge chaise longues, a 15.5 hp stern thruster and a cockpit steering station.

Remember the days when the back of the yacht was called, quite simply, the stern? You know, before the days of beach clubs and foldout platforms and floodable tender compartments that turn into swimming pools? Today, few yacht buyers will even consider a boat without convertible seating, substantial dining and other creature comforts aft.

But far forward, at the bow, it took a little longer for yacht designers to realize folks might want to have more than a tidy space for ground tackle. Eventually, the Portuguese bridge evolved into cocktail nooks, expansive sun pads and hot tubs hidden from prying eyes on the docks. The bow, too, grew into its own as a recreational space, in delightful ways that seemed tough for any future designers to top.

Then, Italian designer Filippo Salvetti—who has done a lot of work with the Ferretti Group—started thinking about it.

Ferretti Infynito 90
The Infynito 90 is offered with multiple interior designs, main-deck layouts and belowdecks options. Courtesy Ferretti

“Customers are used to very high standards of hospitality, making them increasingly hard to satisfy or surprise,” Salvetti says. “This is why the design was based on a new and innovative redistribution of internal and external flows, but above all on the creation of new onboard spaces. Hence the idea of the All-Season Terrace, a covered external space in the bow capable of offering a new ‘world’ to fit out as desired by the customer.”

The result is a space that truly blends the indoors with the outdoors in an inventive way, and allows for owner customization with a hot tub, a private bar or a lounge with fantastic views. This achievement on the Infynito 90 led Yachting to award Ferretti Yachts our 2024 Innovation Award.

Filippo Salvetti

Equally impressive is that the Ferretti Yachts team, working with Salvetti, managed to achieve all of this while still giving the yacht a head-turning exterior profile. As Salvetti explains it: “The top covering the All-Season Terrace helped us create a sleeker bow and give more horizontal dynamism to the product as a whole. The end result is a boat with presence, substance and elegance.”

And the goal of blending the indoors with the outdoors continues with the Infynito 90’s interior, which also has significant options for customization. There are two interior design schemes, three main-deck layouts—one with a gym, in a first for Ferretti Yachts—and two belowdecks arrangements. The sky lounge, which is covered, can also be ordered in various configurations. It makes the Infynito 90 the first closed-deck model in the Ferretti Yachts range.

Ferretti Infynito 90
This bow area, the All-Season Terrace, can have a bar or lounge instead of the hot tub. Courtesy Ferretti

According to interior designers Alessio Battistini and Davide Bernardini of Ideaeitalia: “The design of the interiors for the new Infynito range significantly strengthens their connection with the yacht’s exteriors. The aim was to create a unique link between all the spaces through soft, inviting lines that are also clean and modern. The inspiration for the decor came from the detailed analysis of new geometries, the idea being to carry the style of the cockpits into the interiors.”

Throughout the yacht, the builder also incorporated sustainable materials for the first time, and added a solar roof to produce renewable energy. This is all in keeping with the recreational marine industry’s combined efforts worldwide to reduce carbon emissions and make yachting a more eco-friendly activity—but achieved in a way that feels luxurious, without compromises.

Even the glazing contributes to this holistic design approach of being in tune with the natural world all around. As Salvetti puts it: “The vast glazed surfaces that embrace the two saloons challenge the traditional concept of windows by reaching out through 360 degrees into the natural environment.”

And none of this is to say that the Infynito 90 lacks the types of traditional spaces that most people enjoy aboard motoryachts. There is seating and dining up top, with more of those spaces on the main deck—which can be ordered with what Ferretti Yachts calls a “show kitchen” for owners and guests who want to watch a master chef at work. The lower deck’s standard layout has staterooms that would work for couples or children, with the option of a multipurpose room for owners who would prefer to have that. According to Ferretti Yachts, for day use, the yacht is laid out to welcome 20 people in comfort. And the reported top speed of 20 knots should give the Infynito 90 plenty of zip to get them just about anywhere they want to go and enjoy the surroundings.

This model’s concept has proved so popular that the Infynito 90 already has a sistership, the Infynito 80. It was presented a few months ago at the Cannes Yachting Festival, with owners having the option of an open or semi-open sun deck. The semi-open version has glazing around the bow section, meaning the space can be closed for climate control with an optional enclosure aft.

It’s one thing to give yacht owners options for how they want to build their boats. It’s quite another thing to give them options they’ve never seen anywhere else. Ferretti Yachts succeeded in doing the latter, with flawless execution. This yacht personifies the word innovation, with great style.

Power Player

According to the builder, this yacht’s standard twin 1,550 hp MAN V-12 diesels provide a top hop of 20 knots and a 15-knot fast cruise. With the bigger 1,800 hp MAN V-12 diesels, owners can cruise along comfortably at 22 to 23 knots, depending on load and weather. A fast cruise is about 15 to 17 knots with the bigger diesels, for a range of 400 to 500 nautical miles at those speeds.

Filippo Salvetti

This yacht designer, who is based in Italy, has collaborated with Ferretti Group brands on numerous projects. They include not only Ferretti Yachts models, but also designs in the Custom Line family, such as last year’s Custom Line Navetta 38. It has a length overall of 127 feet, 2 inches, and its bow area has multiple guest spaces for cocktails, sunbathing and yacht-spotting.

Alberto Galassi

Alberto Galassi is CEO of the Ferretti Group, which includes the brands Ferretti Yachts, Custom Line, Wally, Pershing, Itama, Riva and CRN. All the shipyards are in Italy, and they serve clients in more than 70 countries. The company has a big presence at US boat shows. Most recently, it brought 10 models—including the Infynito 90—to the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

The Superyacht Yard

Located in Ancona on Italy’s Adriatic coast, the Superyacht Yard was founded in 1963 as a CRN shipyard. In 2019, it was renamed as the Ferretti Group’s Superyacht Yard. The designers and craftspeople who work here produce CRNs, Riva superyachts and Pershing 140 pleasure boats, in addition to the entire Custom Line fleet.

Winning Philosophy

Yachting created the Innovation Award in 2023. Our goal with this annual accolade is not to honor a single boat or a single design advancement, but rather to celebrate a builder that has achieved something extraordinary while also continuing to produce consistently excellent new models. We look for builders who create features that are smart, stylish, fun, functional and unlike anything else on the water.

Ferretti Yachts has launched Hull No. 1 of its 940, a widebody design that’s expected to remain in Italian waters.

Length overall on the Ferretti Yachts 940 is 95 feet, 1 inch, with a beam of 22 feet, 3 inches. The interior volume allows for a five-stateroom layout including a main-deck master, along with sole-to-ceiling glazing for wide views out over the water.

The cockpit on Hull No. 1 has freestanding furniture and a glass parapet, which is also a feature of Ferretti Yachts 1000. Sliding glass doors lead from here to the salon, which spans nearly 325 square feet and is styled in Ferretti’s Classic scheme of warm, earthy elements. An L-shaped sofa faces a stowage unit and a sliding TV, and there’s a dining table for eight people. Forward of the galley, a companionway leads to a raised pilothouse with a single-piece windscreen.

Forward on the main deck is the owner’s suite, which spans the full beam. The owner chose silver roots marble for the head as well as for the desktop and the forward wall.

Back out on deck, there’s a relaxation area far forward with a sun pad, a C-shaped sofa and a table for cocktails and snacks. That main-deck space is one of several outdoor relaxation zones, which also include the flybridge for alfresco lunches and dinners.

Guest staterooms are belowdecks, with three VIPs and a twin-berth setup that converts to a double on sliders.

Power, according to Ferretti Yachts preliminary data, is twin 2,000-horsepower MAN V-12 engines for a top hop of 25 knots and a cruising speed of 21 knots.

Who gets credit for creating the Ferretti Yachts 940? The yacht is a collaboration between the Strategic Product Committee chaired by Piero Ferrari and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department. Exterior styling is by Filippo Salvetti, and interiors are by the design firm Ideaeitalia.

She roars to life when you open up the throttles and makes a top hop at close to 35 knots with precision handling to match,” Yachting previously reported.

The wraparound seating area surrounds a large dining table, while the aft deck accommodates sun loungers with additional seating.
